Ross LaRocca

Brass

Ross LaRocca is a graduate of Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University, having earned degrees in both music education and performance. A student of prominent horn players David and Jerry Peel, he has studied under numerous brass pedagogues from the Metropolitan Opera and New York Philharmonic orchestras — including Richard Deane, Leelanee Sterrett, Alan Baer, and Kenneth DeCarlo. A versatile musician, Ross has extensive experience both performing in and coaching orchestras, bands, and chamber ensembles. His freelance career in New York and New Jersey has included everything from coffee houses to orchestral concerts in Carnegie Hall. Currently, Ross serves as part time instrumental music instructor at The Hun School of Princeton. As an educator, Ross believes every student is different, and aims to guide each individual towards whichever musical styles they find most meaningful. He strives to give his students the enjoyment, confidence, and tools to successfully realize their musical ideas.
