Winter Recital 2018 Details

Participation Fee: $40*
The fee includes participation and two tickets for each student. For families with more than one child participating each additional student will be charged $30 plus the cost of any additional tickets.
Additional tickets will also be available at the door on the day of the performance and will cost $5. There is no charge for audience members under 12 or siblings.
We want to give every student the opportunity to participate. Please let us know as soon as possible by filling out the form below if your child would like to perform. As this is a formal recital, not all students will be working on repertoire that is appropriate. Those working on more contemporary music will have the opportunity to perform our spring showcase. All participating students are limited to two and a half minutes each. Those performing on two separate instruments are offered up to three minutes.
Students who are performing as vocalists may be required to attend a rehearsal with their accompanist. The rehearsals will be scheduled with the accompanist depending on their schedule, possibly during lesson times. Any rehearsals will be scheduled the two weeks prior to the performance if necessary. Please discuss accompaniment details with your private studio teacher directly. If your child is interested in performing with other students in duets or trios, we may require additional rehearsals outside of a students regular lesson time, or possibly during one of the students lesson times. Please note that all students must either be studying at Valencia Music or be taking lessons privately (not through another school) with one of our instructors.
Students should arrive no earlier than 15-20 minutes before their recital. We ask that everyone stay to the end of their respective recital. Students and families do not need to attend all three recitals. However, once a ticket is purchased for one recital, you are free to attend all or any of the three sessions as an audience member at no additional charge. Please be aware that we reserve recitals on a first come first serve basis. If you need a specific recital, it is advised that you reserve your spot as soon as possible. Each recital is limited to 25 students.
Students should dress in a casual formal to formal attire. Please do not wear ripped jeans, t-shirts and sneakers. Collared shirts and button downs with nice jeans, khakis or slacks are appropriate for boys, and dresses, (formal gowns are not necessary) or a nice shirt with slacks are appropriate for girls.
